I am a public historian, digital humanist, college professor, author, and recently, podcaster. I specialize in early American memory, examining the commemorative traditions of the colonial, Revolutionary, and early republican landscapes. My recent work focuses on the early republican efforts to memorialize the emergent nation, even as most Americans of the period maintained local or regional interests and identities.
